There are 4 input data required to generate a Vietnamese Astrology Chart, or Lá Số Tử Vi. To illustrate such Chart, it is best with an example, and within the scope of this article, the current President-Elect of the US is chosen for the reason to be explained later.

Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii, USA, and during the presidental election campaign, his web site produced a copy of his (live) birth certificate indicating he was born at 7:24PM.

Assuming that this piece of evidence is correct (there is always a lingering doubt that politician's birth data may not be trustworthy for an implied reason: hidden policital agenda. However that would be beyond the purpose of this topic), we have all 4 pieces of information to generate the Chart. Here it is, based on the hour of the Dog:

If this is the end of the "story", life can be very simple, there would be no need to do anything further, no birth time verification, no nothing...

However, a serious Vietnamese Astrology specialist will scrutinize the birth time to ensure that the corresponding Chart does indeed reflect many other aspects of Obama himself, e.g. his parents situation (Dad married to 3 women, Mom re-married and traveled to Indonesia when Barrack was young...), his numerous half-siblings, half-aunts, half-uncles, ...etc. Together, s/he will combine with Obama's past events to ascertain they would match the timings suggested in the Chart, e.g. when Obama got married, had children, succeeded or failed in previous political endeavours...

Thus, there is a need to verify the birth time using Obama's life aspects, past events, before one can attempt to predict if he will win the election to become the first African-American President of the USA.

To complicate the issue, his reported time of birth of 7:24PM is about 24 minutes into the hour of the Dog; or in other words, just 24 minutes after the hour of the Rooster. To the newbies to Vietnamese Astrology, there are 12 hours in the day based on the 12-domestic animals (to say loosely as Dragon, Tiger, Monkey,... are hardly domestic). They are: the hour of the Rat, Bull, Tiger, Cat or Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse (Noon), Goat, Monkey, Rooster (17:00 to 19:00), Dog (19:00 to 21:00) and Pig.

Thus for the "twilight zone" between the 2 hours, 30 minutes before and after the actual designated hour should be both considered. Or both Charts, based on the hour of the Rooster and Dog should be carefully scrutinized for applicability to Obama's real life events to determine which Chart shall be used for serious readings, interpretations and predictions.

Therefore, Obama's Chart based on the hour of the Rooster shall be carefully reviewed.

Back then, this is a simple but rather time-consuming way to verify time of birth. In addition, to generate a Chart by hand would take at least half an hour for many practitioners of this Art, generating the 2nd charts, then reading them both is very discouraging.

Nowadays, with the advent of internet, and especially access to many trustworthy web sites, such as one of the US Navy, finding the exact Sun transit at any given waypoint (latitude, longitude) is a matter of seconds, and so is generating a Chart, as they can be done online thanks to Tinvietonline.com .

To determine exact Sun transit, one can visit US Navy Sun Moon Data (http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneDay.php), entering Honolulu, Hawaii, 4 August 1961 yields this data

Birth time verification has been further complicated by a significant finding from MobiVN, a relatively new member of Astroviet.com, kudos to his very meaningful contribution--nn--!

Mr. MobiVN found that the lunar date generated by those Birth Chart software, such as that from Mr. Gioan Duong in tinvietonline.com, could be off by one day, which is usually one day earlier due to the Lat/Long geographical of Vietnam, relative to those who were born anywhere outside VN.

As such, he contested and would probably correct to conclude the correct lunar birthday of Obama is the 24th of the 6th month in the year of the Ox, 1961. If so, Obama's birth chart would have to be verified against the 2 possible hours, either the Hour of the Rooster, or that of the Dog!

To further "test" his remarkable finding, I tried the notorious birthchart of a career criminal Charles Manson, born on November 12, 1934 (the year of the Dog). (Why this birthchart, you may ask? A career criminal birthchart is strongly characterized with stars implying violent character and thus punishment such as jail time would be more obvious to verify against).

I feel Vietlyso's methodology to determine birth time for Barack Obama, the 44th U.S. President, is validated, as Russian astrologers came up with a similar birth time for the US President: his birth certificate data is invalid (http://astrologer.ru/article/victory_of_mccain.html.en)!

On November 2, 2008 Russian astrologers Albert and Maria Timashev forecasted that John McCain will win the U.S. presidential election. However, on November 4, 2008 his opponent, Barack Obama, has won the election and became the President-elect of the United States. This fact forced Authors to revise the astrological birth charts of candidates and made the conclusion that Barack Obama's official birth certificate data is invalid and misleading.

The official birth certificates state the birth time of John McCain as 6:25 PM and the birth time of Barack Obama as 7:24 PM. Authors' initial rectification gave 5:57 PM for McCain and 7:11 PM for Obama on the base of the key life events of the candidates. Resulting astrological prognostic charts led Authors to conclusion of inevitable McCain's victory since he has sufficient astrological indications for Presidency while Obama has absolutely not. As long as this conclusion appeared untrue, one must question the source data reliability and accuracy.

As before Timashevs state that individual born at 7:24 (or 7:11) PM AHST on August 4, 1961 at Honolulu, Hawaii just cannot be the President. The nearest birth time making Barack Obama's Presidency possible is 6:36 PM that is 24 minutes before 7 PM, not after 7 PM as officially claimed. However such a derived birth time cannot be considered a reliable basis of astrological conclusions until it thoroughly verified and confirmed by making the successful future predictions. Besides a possibility of Kenyan birth, wrong date, etc shouldn't be ruled out as well. Initially Russian astrologers trusted the official birth certificate, and that led them straight to the incorrect prediction.

As regards the future of the President-elect Barack Hussein Obama II, in his new revised prognostic chart cast for 6:36 PM it looks generally unclouded till summer 2011 when lots of problems would gradually appear culminating in spring 2012 when physical elimination (or at least a successful attempt on his life) is highly possible.

Now that I found an echo internationally from Russia, I will have a closer look at the 6:36PM, the Hour of the Rooster birth Chart, in addition to the new suggestion on the actual Lunar date, 24th day of the Sixth month, other than the current assumption of 23th day.
